FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona beat Mallorca 3-0, as Lamine Yamal scored a great goal from outside the box. He extended his goal-scoring streak to five straight matches, but it ended on Thursday against Atlético Madrid. Robert Lewandowski and Marc Bernal also scored, as the Spanish youngster scored his first ever goal for FC Barcelona.
Villareal
Villareal defeated Espanyol 4-1 on Matchday 23 and levelled Atlético Madrid on points, while still having a game in hand. After not having won any of their last three LaLiga matches, they’ve finally got back to winning terms with a big four-goal statement.
Gorka Guruzeta
Gorka Guruzeta scored a brace to help Athletic Club win their first LaLiga match since the 6th of December of last year. He headed in a great cross from Ruiz de Galarreta and finished off a swift counterattack to put Athletic up 2-0.
Ante Budimir
The Croatian striker scored in his fourth straight LaLiga match with an amazing header to help Osasuna win 2-1 against Celta de Vigo. He’s currently the fourth-highest goalscorer in LaLiga and will be looking to add a few more goals to his tally until the end of the season.
Real Betis
Real Betis achieved the biggest upset of Matchday 23, ending Atlético Madrid’s two-month unbeaten run in LaLiga. They won 1-0 at the Metropolitano, as Antony scored a left-footed rocket from outside the box.
