Atlético moved up to third place, taking advantage of Villareal’s loss to Real Madrid, by winning 3-0 against RCD Mallorca at home. They’ve won four out of their last five matches in LaLiga.
Mikel Oyarzabal
Mikel Oyarzabal was the best player of Matchday 21, scoring two nearly identical goals from outside the box into the bottom right corner. He’s slowly picking up his form, again after having suffered a hamstring injury in December. He’ll look to be at the peak of his powers towards the end of the season, seeing as there’s a World Cup this summer.
FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona took care of business after slipping up against Real Sociedad last matchday. They beat Real Oviedo 3-0, thanks to goals from Dani Olmo, Raphinha and an acrobatic finish from Lamine Yamal.
Deportivo Alavés
Deportivo Alavés managed to upset Real Betis in a 2-1 win at home. The three points were crucial for Alavés to escape the relegation zone, as they’ve climbed from 18th to 15th place in the league table. They still need to be very careful though, as they’re only one point above the relegation zone.
