Elche

Elche stunned Rayo Vallecano, as they cruised past them in a 4-0 victory. It was expected to be a tight game, especially as Elche had lost to Mallorca last matchday, but everybody was completely taken by surprise when Rayo Vallecano failed to even put up a fight.

Aitor Ruibal

Despite primarily playing as a right back, Aitor Ruibal started as a left-winger against Getafe. The manager’s decision to change his normal position paid off, as he scored a brace in Real Betis’ 4-0 win over Getafe. Real Betis are now comfortably in 6th place, as they’re five points ahead of 7th place Celta de Vigo.

Atlético de Madrid

Atlético de Madrid capped off the year in style, by defeating Girona 3-0 away from home. Koke and Griezmann scored in back-to-back LaLiga games and Conor Gallagher scored his first league goal since September. Overall, a very well-rounded victory for Atlético, who still aspire to fight for the title.

Ante Budimir

Ante Budimir scored a spectacular volley and netted home a penalty to help Osasuna beat Deportivo Alavés and climb from 16th to 12th place in the league table. The Croatian striker scored in back-to-back games for the second time this season, as he’s trying to be more consistent.

Kylian Mbappé

Kylian Mbappé equalled Cristiano Ronaldo’s record, having scored 59 goals for Real Madrid in 2025, and paid tribute to him by doing his trademark celebration. He’s currently at the peak of his career, but the teams’ results do not match his individual performances. Despite his 18 goals in 18 league games, Real Madrid are still only in second place, four points behind FC Barcelona.
