Jannik Sinner came out victorious in the final of the Paris Masters, the last Masters 1000 tournament of the season. He beat Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final, who did put up a fight, but wasn’t good enough to defeat the Italian. Sinner demonstrated an unreal amount of power in his shots, hitting 22 winners across the whole match.

The Paris Masters was Jannik Sinner’s first and only Masters 1000 title this year, as he missed out on the first four due to a suspension. The 24-year-old has now returned to World No.1 but is only ahead by 250 points.

Carlos Alcaraz sits at 11,250 and Jannik Sinner at 11,500. This being said, Jannik Sinner will have to defend 1,500 points at the ATP Finals in Turin next week, seeing as he won every single game in straight sets and claimed his maiden ATP Finals title last year. On the other hand, Carlos Alcaraz only has to defend 200 points, as he won only one game and was knocked out in the round-robin last year.

Jannik Sinner is the favourite to defend his title, especially as the tournament is played on an indoor hard court, but the odds are slightly in Carlos Alcaraz’s favour to end up as the year-end No. 1.
