Luis Díaz has taken the footballing world by storm with his recent performances at his new club FC Bayern Munich. Liverpool had to make way for their new signings this summer and Luis Díaz was one of the chosen ones to leave the club. Bayern pounced on this opportunity and signed him for 70 million euros. At the time, it seemed to be a fair price for him, but after having seen how he’s consistently delivering world-class performances, it looks like Bayern may very well have made a bargain.

The Colombian winger scored and won his first title for the club in his first official game. He lifted the German Super Cup, as his first match already hinted at a bright future. In his Bundesliga debut, he scored and provided two assists, as he ran riot around RB Leipzig’s back line.

Then, in his following five games for club and country, he scored two goals and provided two assists. Luis Díaz went on to only provide one assist and not score in the next four games, but he still played incredibly well, creating chances and being one of Bayern’s most important players.

Yesterday he broke his scoring drought, bagging a brace and assisting Harry Kane to defeat Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0. This has been his best performance to date for FC Bayern and has made people ask themselves if he’s the best left winger in the world right now.

Luis Díaz seems to be in the prime of his career right now, and this moment couldn’t come any better, seeing as the 2026 World Cup will be played at the end of this season. He’s Colombia’s best player and the whole world will be watching to see how deep the South Americans can go in the tournament.
