Cristiano Ronaldo captained Al Nassr in yesterday’s clash against Al Ittihad. In just nine minutes of play, Sadio Mané opened the scoring with a beautiful left-footed volley. Then Cristiano Ronaldo headed in a cross from Sadio Mané in the 35th minute to go up 2-0 in the first half. Cristiano now sits at 946 career goals scored, as his quest for 1000 is still very much alive.
Al Nassr kept up their dominant form in the second half and closed out the game by keeping a clean sheet. Al Nassr could have even won by more goals, but they failed to convert some big chances. This marks a huge step forward for Al Nassr, seeing as they lost both league matches against Al Ittihad last season. They now stand at the top of the league table and are the favourites to win the title.
This would be a historical achievement for Cristiano Ronaldo, because it would be his first title for Al Nassr and would mean that Cristiano Ronaldo has won a title for every club he’s ever played. He won the Arab Club Cup in 2023, but FIFA does not recognise it as an official trophy. Cristiano Ronaldo looks like he’s in perfect form for the upcoming World Cup at the end of the season, which will probably be his last chance to win the elusive trophy.
