Villareal
Villareal has been by far the most impressive team this campaign. They’ve won their first two games and haven’t conceded a single goal yet. On Matchday 2, they beat Girona 5-0, with a stellar Tajon Buchanan who scored a hattrick and was the best player of the matchday.

Vini Jr. & Kylian Mbappé
Kylian Mbappé kept up his goalscoring streak, bagging a brace in clinical fashion. Although the more attention-grabbing story of the game was Vini Jr. not being in the starting XI and having to come off the bench in the 63rd minute. Vini took this in the best way possible, by assisting Kylian Mbappé and scoring a goal of his own in just 27 minutes, proving to Xabi Alonso that he should be starting every game of the season.

FC Barcelona
After an action-packed first half, FC Barcelona found themselves stunningly trailing 0-2 against Levante, putting them in a sticky situation if they want to defend the LaLiga title this season. Soon enough, Barcelona caught fire, equalizing the game, just seven minutes after the second half had started. Then, in the dying minutes of extra time, FCB managed to score the winner and secured a much-needed win to revalidate their title this season.

José Bordalas
Getafe is having trouble registering players for this season and, because of this, José Bordalas has had to play his first two games with only 15 players available. José Bordalas is probably the best manager a club can have in this situation. He’s been able to win both matches, including a hard-fought 1-2 win this matchday in the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, using only 13 players. Getafe are hoping they can register more players in the coming days, while José Bordalas is holding the ship together to the best of his abilty.

Giovani Lo Celso
Giovani Lo Celso has had to take a step forward since Isco’s injury, becoming the team’s new leader in the midfield. He’s turned himself into Real Betis’s protagonist, providing an assist in the first game of the season and scoring their only goal in a 1-0 win over Deportivo Alavés on Matchday 2.
