The captain and commander of the treble-winning side this season, Marquinhos makes the top 30 as he finally achieved to win his first Champions League title. The heartbeat of the defence, Marquinhos was essential to PSG’s and Brazil’s success.

29. Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid & England)
After a stellar first season at Real Madrid, Jude Bellingham had to take on a new role due to the signing of Kylian Mbappé. He adapted well but didn’t quite live up to expectations. Nevertheless, Jude Bellingham had a solid season and was placed 29th for the Player of the Year award.

28. Declan Rice (Arsenal & England)
The Arsenal midfielder was the team’s best player this season, helping them reach the Champions League semi-finals and second place in the Premier League. Declan Rice’s season was highlighted by an incredible performance in the Champions League quarterfinals against Real Madrid, as he scored two free-kick goals in the first leg and bossed the midfield in the second leg.

27. Federico Valverde (Real Madrid & Uruguay)
Federico Valverde’s ability to play in a lot of different positions and perform consistently has been the key to his success this season. A relentless worker and physical phenomenon, he has stepped up in big games this season and become a leader in the dressing room.

26. Mateo Retegui (Atalanta & Italy)
The Italian striker has had a breakout season, scoring 25 goals in Serie A and becoming the league’s top scorer. The future looks bright for the 26-year-old, as this was only his second season playing in Serie A and his first in the Champions League.
